2021 RIDE

STURGIS MEDICINE WHEEL RIDE

Several Medicine Wheel Riders journeyed together to Sturgis. Along the way, they met with tribal leaders and MMIW families in New Mexico, Colorado and Wyoming.

Our founders were invited to participate in the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally opening ceremony and parade. They were given the opportunity to address the crowd and share our mission and purpose.

Close to 200 riders from multiple tribes rode in our second MMIW Sturgis ride. After joining together in ceremony and prayer, the riders departed from Bear Butte to Crazy Horse Memorial, led by one of our founders who is a direct descendent of Chief Red Cloud. North Dakota Representative Ruth Buffalo was our main speaker, along with other tribal leaders, activists, and families.

All proceeds from registration and t-shirt sales have been designated for groups and advocates working with Native women and their families in South Dakota.
